It’s been one week since the launch of my new business name, Artistrie Co, brand and website, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the positive response and excitement from all of you. I am so grateful. Your support means the world to me. This last year has been quite the journey. I’ve spent a countless number of hours dreaming about the future of my wedding photography business, the places I want to go, and how I want to push myself artistically. I finally feel like my branding matches the heart and soul of my photography, and that is such an amazing feeling.
And, hey – I’ve got this awesome new name: Artistrie Co. It’s going to take some time to get used to, but I’m in love with it and I hope you are too! As a business owner, your name is the one of the biggest pieces of your brand; it’s the first impression a client reads or hears. It was important for me to have a name that can evoke sentiments and emotions. My parents gave me a great name and all (no one else named their daughter “Ashley” in the 80′s, right?), but as a business name, it didn’t accomplish what I needed; it didn’t make people feel. With the name Artistrie Co., I hope to inspire and excite future clients with a brand that not only reflects my style, but also theirs. Overtime, I hope Artistrie Co. will continue to grow and gain recognition. I am so excited to see where it leads me.
So you might be asking “What’s the deal with Deviled Eggs? I’m hungry!”. The first cooking lesson I ever received was from my Grandmother. What you need to know about her is that she made the most legendary deviled eggs. Ever. It didn’t matter what the occasion or holiday was, she would always bring a platter of her famous deviled eggs. And if you wanted one, you had to be snappy about it. They disappeared instantly. (The Biess family doesn’t mess around about eggs.) I couldn’t have been more than 10 years old when I found out my Grandma was coming over to teach me how to make this Biess family staple. It was probably one of the most exciting days of my young life. At last! I would have the recipe in my hands! However, I quickly found out that there was no recipe. She cooked by feeling and by experiment, but most importantly, she put a whole lot of love into what she was doing. Not only does this method produce some hella delicious deviled eggs, I think it’s a great approach to life. There’s no right or wrong way to do anything. Life is all about experimenting and exploring, and finding your own way. But the most important thing is love. Put love into everything you care about and you simply can’t go wrong.
Whether it’s Ashley Biess Photography or Artistrie Co., I know that my heart will always be at the forefront of my business and my life. Who knew a few hard boiled eggs could teach such an important lesson?! Thank you to everyone who has followed me throughout this journey. Without a doubt, I have the best clients, friends and family. I wouldn’t be here without your support.
And on that note, I’m hungry. Any guesses to what I’m going to make? Have a great week, friends! Stay tuned for a special Instagram contest to be posted soon.
